💁🏻 Concept: Distinguishing Between Spirits
Discernment of spirits, primarily, is the ability to judge between true and false teachings by the standard of Scripture. This may include the ability to recognize the influence of the Holy Spirit or of demonic spirits in a person.

📖 Bible Readings: 1 John 4:1
(Acts 17:11; 1 Timothy 4:16; Matthew 7:15-20; 1 Corinthians 12:10; Hebrews 5:14; 2 Corinthians 11:13-15)

👨🏻‍💻 Teachings:
Three tests of the Spirit or spirit (teaching):
1. The test of doctrine: Aligns with God’s truth.
2. The test of practice: Reflects God’s holiness.
3. The test of love: Demonstrates God’s love.

 

💪🏼 Applications:
1. Test every teaching through the lens of the Bible. 
2. Practice what you preach. 
3. Love the unlovable with the love of Christ.

🙏🏼 Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me the wisdom to discern truth from error. In a world filled with deception, help me to stand firm in Your Word. Teach me to test every spirit and not be swayed by teachings that sound good but contradict Your truth. Give me a heart that seeks wisdom and a mind that is alert to the schemes of the enemy. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, that I may grow in discernment and walk in truth daily. May I always rely on You, the source of all wisdom and most of all Father, I pray, that You will teach me to love like Jesus. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
